CASTLE OF CONVERSANO

Starting in 1456, the Acquaviva d’Aragona became counts of Conversano and established their residence inside the castle. Today, practically nothing remains of the so-called noble quarter, that is, the apartment inhabited by the counts, and the only room that is probably still intact is the famous bedroom of Giangirolamo II, count of Conversano in the seventeenth century, whose vault was frescoed by the painter Paolo Finoglio.
